Learning Objectives:

Sometimes temporary or even permanent resident visa applications are refused by visa post / office due to minor errors, confusions and or noncompliance of IRPA act/ Given Procedures at decision maker’s part. If legal professional is smart and can find these errors made by visa officer this may open a window of opportunity for representatives to argue and make their point via simple review request on that subject decision for best interest of client/s. Review procedure is not mentioned in any IRPA act or regulators, but there have been cases where review requests have worked well and program manager/s were willing to cooperate with counsels to consider applications after refusal, visas were issued.Review requests have also worked where legal representatives were able to proactively identify issues related to cases before final decision and addressed the same for better results in favor of clients. This session may assist members to learn from A-Z how to evaluate, prepare and submit such reviews if applicable.
