Learning Objectives:

Under Canada’s immigration law, if clients have committed or been convicted of a crime, they may not be allowed into Canada.  In other words they are “criminally inadmissible.”  This includes both minor and serious crimes. Depending on the crime, how long ago it was and how clients have behaved since, they may still be allowed to come to Canada. This topic may assist attendees to learn about the complete process from client assessment to application for rehabilitation. This topic will also cover a brief summary the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
