Learning Objectives:

Family sponsorship applications are very sensitive and may have a serious affect on the applicant’s life if not approved. Despite genuineness of the relationship between parties, a simple family sponsorship case may turn into a complex matter during the visa office examination process if the applicant or representative go off track by not following program-specific policies and procedures. Guidelines and document checklists are neither policies or procedures nor the law, and may not constitute a solid ground for appeal at any level if the matter is refused.

When filling out the application form, and gathering and assessing documents, and when the applicant or professionals put them to a legal evidential test, it is possible to identify major points which are most common and may cause serious consequences during the process. These can be avoided for better results.

This program may assist legal professionals, the public, and applicants to understand the minimum threshold and common serious errors to avoid in such situations.
