Registration instructions: A UCICA member must log in first to complete registration.
After the first interview by CIC inland office or at POE, once application process for claim is complete and assessed by CIC/CBSA, it is then referred to IRB for final determination. This process involves a hearing process and plays a key role in the decision making process.
Claim application is tested based on oral, documented and/or expert evidence/witnesses.
The hearing process involves questions from the minister’s counsel, Board member and claimant’s counsel. Evidence is seriously tested and examined along with oral testimony/statements of claimant and any other applicants in claim.
If everything is not in order or seriously prepared, application may be denied and the consequences can be devastating in certain situations.
This course class may assist attendees to learn about the process and prepare everything needed, including representation, scheduling, preparing and submitting evidence/disclosure, understanding the time limits, and preparing claimant(s) and witnesses for the hearing day
