Once the second most important step in the process is completed, the hearing preparation, the hearing date could be the final stage in line. Well-prepared and presented cases may get to this point with a short hearing and in many cases without minister’s/CBSA counsel presence. The Board member may go over issues and questions, allowing claimant or counsel for claimant to rebut, and decisions are announced on the spot. On the other hand cases which are not prepared well may also get processed in the same manner and get negative results. A knowledgeable counsel can not only assist client to prepare for the process well, but also may judge during the trial/hearing the mode/path of the decision maker and deal with situations for the best interest of clients for a better decision or making grounds for further appeals / other legal remedial options.
This course class may assist claimants or legal professionals to prepare for a better and more professional representation. This course will be presented in a real courtroom-like setting.
